About the donor: The Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter is a family owned and operated German restaurant nestled in a pine forest since 1966. Founder Karl Schoene and his wife Elizabeth built the Gasthaus in the rolling hills that reminded Karl of his native Bavaria. Today, the Schoenes’ granddaughter, Kim Quade, carries on the tradition of great food, atmosphere and Gemeutlichkeit that have made Gasthaus one of Sillwater’s most beloved institutions.
