2011 - 2012 TCGIS PTO Theme, Community Service:

Each year the PTO chooses a theme to focus on throughout the school year. This year, that theme is community service. While many TCGIS parents and staff already volunteer in countless ways, the PTO encourages us all to take the opportunity to show our children the importance of community service a well. Click here to find 10 great reasons for getting your family involved in the community.

2010-2011 Accomplishments |
While the TCGIS PTO continues to be a busy crew, it is
important to stop and take look back to see what all of our hard work
accomplishes. Last year we:
- Served 29 different hot dishes to over 150 people at the
Auflauf competition.
- Danced the night away like movie stars at Maskenball.
- Brought together families for game night at the school.
- Raised over $21,272 through various fundraisers (see below).
- Provided over $6,000 to the director and teachers for
curriculum enhancements and classroom projects.
- Donated $7,500 to the school for Performing Arts program.
- Gave tours to 30 families to show off TCGIS to
recruit new students.
- Brought in speakers on how to keep your kids safe(the
Jacob Wetterling Foundation) and healthy (nutritionist Jennette
Turner spoke on Kids, Food and Mood).
- Incorporated greening, last year's PTO theme, by using compostable or reusable service-ware at events, provided greening tips in the 2010-2011 calendar.
Thanks to your cooking, baking, crafting, eating, shopping, and couponing, we have raised over $21,000 for our teachers and students!
