News from awhile back:
We had a splendid time at Maskenball!

Really, can anyone throw a party like the TCGIS PTO? Thanks to the many, many people who helped make Maskenball possible. Our treasurer Molly McBeath is busy tallying final event proceeds, but we know that it went well. If you're wondering whether you won something in the auction, please contact Rebecca Johnson.
Auction winners who haven't yet paid for or claimed their items will hear from our Auction Chair, Rebecca Johnson, by week's end. We still have a few available spots in some of our group events; an opportunity to sign up is forthcoming.
Thanks to our Maskenball Gold sponsors, the German American Chamber of Commerce and Inver Grove Volkswagen, and our table sponsors Re/Max realtor Beth Richardson of MovingtoMinnesota.com and Park Midway Bank of St. Paul, who all helped to underwrite this year's event. Vielen Dank!
Thanks to everyone who donated to the December 18 staff appreciation luncheon. Our hardworking staff enjoyed the award winning Auflauf entries, along with lots of other great food donated by our parents. Special thanks to Nicole Grenz, Kami Blackwell Kinney, and Gina Vader for organizing.
Ruhland's Strudel - Oodles of thanks.
If you see Sue Burke Westacott, give her a hearty thanks for organizing this year's strudel sale--especially for spending 3.5 hours in the parking lot on delivery day to make sure that everybody's strudel stayed frozen. We raised over $700!
Holiday Plant Sale a Success! Many thanks to Linda Michel and Cornelia Sampson for organizing this year's holiday plant sale, which featured beautiful fresh poinsettias, wreaths and greenery and raised around $600 for our school and our kids.
Craft Sale Kudos to Heidi Zimmermann and our many talented and helpful parents who put together the recent Craft & Bake Sale. Danke, Danke, Danke, to all who organized, donated, volunteered and shopped. Thanks to their combined efforts, the sale raised over $1100!!
Thanks to TCGIS parent Beryimar Funk for teaching the Latin Dance class on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the GAI. TCGIS moms and a number of our interns attended, and everyone had a fantastic time!
Congratulations to our Auflauf Cook-off Winners!
Kitty van Hofwegen placed first in the Vegetarian category with Curry "Chicken" Broccoli, while Ursula Hargens received an honorable mention for her Butternut Squash & Red Peppers. Kitty won again in the International category with Taco Pie, tying for first place with Silke Moeller, who prepared Oma Anna's Auflauf. In the American Traditional Category, Carmen Dahlberg took home top honors with "Pot O'Pasta, while Gina Vader and Sue Westacott received Honorable Mentions for Thanksgiving and Chicken Tetrazzini, respectively. Thanks to all who organized, cooked, judged, and otherwise helped to put on such a great event! Recipes are coming soon!
Looking to Volunteer? The PTO is a busy bunch and we could always use more help with our many projects and initiatives. Contact Volunteer Coordinator Gina Vader for information on current volunteer needs for both the PTO and the school. |
